Apple delays WatchOS 2 due to bugK

Apple says it's delaying the release of new Apple Watch software after finding a computer bug.
WatchOS 2 was scheduled to go public to customers on Wednesday. But on Wednesday morning, the company announced the update's delay to news reporters.
In a statement, the company said: "We have discovered a bug in development of WatchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected. We will not release WatchOS 2 today but will shortly."

Apple (AAPLTech30) did not detail the computer flaw.
The updated Apple Watch software will add new watch faces, let users reply to emails, and allow for more powerful apps and additional customization. It's also expected to make the machine run faster.

iTunes taken down by developer

September 19

NEW YORK

Peace was Apple's top-paid app until its developer took it down on Friday, just three days after its launch.
Developer Marco Arment said he removed the ad-blocking app because he had a change of heart about how it worked.
Users loved it, but Arment explained on his blogFriday that his app hurts people who make a living from ad-supported businesses. That includes news organizations and smaller sites.

As his app rose in popularity, so did the consequences and his discomfort.
"I still believe that ad blockers are necessary today... but I've learned over the last few crazy days that I don't feel good making one and being the arbiter of what's blocked," he wrote.
Peace lets users block ads and trackers while browsing the Web on their iPhone or iPads. The app also blocks social posts and buttons, comments, and special fonts.
The app's software identifies what to block using a special database maintained by another company, Ghostery, so there isn't an easy way to make exceptions.
"This approach is too blunt, and Ghostery and I have both decided that it doesn't serve our goals or beliefs well enough," he explained.                                                        Screenshots of the app from a cached version of the iTunes store.
Arment's supporters praised him for taking the app down, calling it a bold move.
However, many people criticized him for making a rash and sweeping decision. After all, he could have tweaked it to be less heavy-handed.
Some also questioned his motives because his own ad publisher attacked him on Twitter. Others said he knew what he was doing and it wasn't fair to abandon his customers.

Apple says iOS 9 is most successful update ever

September 21

NEW YORK

More than half of all iPhones now run iOS 9, Apple said Monday.
Apple released the latest version of its mobile operating system last Wednesday, making this the fastest adoption rate ever, the company said in statement.
The new iOS 9 has several attractive features including a power-saving mode, the ability to conduct a FaceTime call and watch a video simultaneously, a smarter Siri, scribbling functions in the Notes app, and an improved Apple Maps that now includes transit directions.

Apple (AAPLTech30) also made the update process easier. The operating system takes up less space than iOS 8 did -- 1.3 GB compared to 4.6 GB -- and if an iPhone doesn't have enough space to download iOS 9, a pop-up notification will give the user an option to delete and reinstall apps automatically.
Apple's next generation of iPhones -- the 6S and 6S Plus -- will come with iOS 9 by default.
The new phones go on sale in stores on Friday. Pre-sales began about a week and a half ago, and the company expects that demand for the new devices will also set records.
